Just as one should try to avoid combining drugs, one should also avoid combining sleep aids, even vitamin sleep aids. This is common sense. Dr. Oz espouses (do an online search for validation) that one should limit melatonin intake to not more than one milligram a day, with the elderly taking even smaller dosages.
Dr. Oz also espouses that a high level of tryptophan is found in turkey. If you wish to increase your ability to remember your dreams, get some (preferably organic) B-6 supplement in capsule form and only take the recommended dosage. It is widely recognized that B-6 increases the production of melatonin in the brain, helps us remember our dreams, and appears to be safer than taking melatonin directly.
It has also been reported that too much melatonin can cause nightmares as well as panic attacks. So take it easy on the B-6. As far as spiritual development is concerned, outside of relaxation, sleep aids have no beneficial affect.
One must remember that the essence of spiritual development is not increased psychic receptivity or dream awareness - although that may be a side benefit at times - but rather an increase in the ability to love genuinely and deeply. No pill(s) can orchestrate that for us. When in doubt, better to err on the side of caution and take less, not more.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
