You buy something (presumably on-line) Next day or a few days later it don't work Thats a clear case of a breach of the sale of goods act THAT entitles you to your money back Day after it broke you TELL them (via e-mail) that it don't work, that THAT is a breach of the sale of goods act, and that as a result you are returning it, and demand a refund If you bought on-line you ALSO tell them in the e-mail that even if they find no fault its irrelevent cos under the distance selling regs you don't want it and demand a refund as is your right under the distance selling regs. Wherever you bought it from you tell them that unless they confirm within say 1 week that a refund is being made you will issue a claim in the small claims court. The one thing you DONT do with a failure in a brand new item is p//ss about letting them try to repair it.
And ALWAYS contact them via e-mail or post (cos THEN you have a record of all contact) NOT by phone.
You need to start with the basics. Did you buy from a retailer, because if so that is where your claim lies? If you sent a valuable item uninsured you may be stuck, however.
What about your receipt, and house insurance - any cover there? Clutching at straws, I'm afraid. Start with the guidance at the link below.
Good luck.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
