It doesn't *have* to be distilled, but it's much better for your Flat Iron|iron and your Clothing|clothes to use distilled water. Distilled water is water with most of the impurities out of it. If you use non-distilled water you will wind up leaving mineral deposits in your iron (and potentially clogging the steam holes) and potentially on your clothes.
If you do do this, or acquire an iron where someone has been frequently using tap water, etc. A good way to get rid of such mineral deposits is with vinegar. But, in a pinch if you *need* to iron something and you don't have any distilled water, nor time to get some, then go ahead and use tap water.. it shouldn't hurt to use it occasionally.
It depends on the Flat Iron|iron. I think most nowadays work fine with Tap Water|tapwater. E.g.

It depends - if your city has a good water supply, I'd say it's okay, but if you live out in the boonies, you might want to get a faucet purifier (for this and other reasons, namely drinking. ).
Using tap water for your steam iron can clog the iron, making the steam sputter out or not come out at all. Regular tap water contains minerals, like calcium, that will build up inside your iron. Even with a water softener, you tap water will still contain trace amounts of minerals that will eventually clog your iron.
Distilled water varieties are best for use in irons.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
