Can probation drug testing distinguish between the different drugs like Oxycodone, Heroin, or Methadone?

New Jersey does contract out to a national laboratory to do urine tests for 5 major categories of drugs (opiates, cocaine, amphetamines, phencyclidine, and marijuana). They test for the drugs and their metabolites. Apparently some officers are also able to do on-site urine testing.

Some use hand-held drug testing kits or the sweat patch. I'm not sure exactly what panels they run, or the exact procedures, but if they're anything like the drug tests that are done for clinical purposes, they do have some ability to differentiate between various opiates, but it isn't perfect. According to the PDF linked in my sources (which I suggest you read--it is very informative), methadone and oxycodone don't always turn up in basic tests.

I wouldn't count on them not testing for them specifically, especially if you have a history of abusing either substance. As for Heroin, if you have a positive result for 6-monoacetylmorphine (a metabolite of heroin) and morphine, they'll know you've been using heroin recently. Testing positive for morphine without that metabolite appears to be a little more questionable. It could be dietary (poppy seeds, although the threshold is high enough now that it would be extremely unlikely).

It could also indicate morphine or codeine use, but if you have used codeine the test should show both codeine and morphine in your system. You may also want to look at Erowid's pages on drug testing: erowid.org/psychoactives/testing/testing... They're not going to be as trustworthy a source as medical or scientific links, but they do generally research what they're saying and offer citations. They're writing from the perspective of educating the drug user, rather than from the law enforcement/"concerned parent" side of things.

I found some information on US Courts website on “Substance Abuse Treatment. uscourts.gov/fedprob/treatment/substance... quote ------------ Testing Urinalysis is an important component of substance abuse treatment. Surprise collection and testing of urine samples gives officers an effective means to detect drug use and determine whether persons under supervision have refrained from using drugs.

Testing usually is unscheduled or random. The person being tested has less than 24 hours' notice that a specimen will be collected. The Administrative Office contracts with three laboratories to test urine specimens for the presence of drugs or their metabolites.

The laboratories routinely test for five major categories of drugs: opiates, cocaine, amphetamines, phencyclidine, and marijuana. The laboratories also provide specimen collection supplies to probation and pretrial services offices, perform tests to confirm positive test results, and furnish expert testimony or affidavits for court proceedings. In addition to the services provided by the contract laboratories, officers use other means to test for substance abuse.

Some probation and pretrial services offices have on-site urine testing equipment. Some use hand-held drug testing kits. Some use the sweat patch, a band-aid-like device that tests perspiration for the presence of drugs. To test for alcohol, officers use breathalysers.

------------------ /quote They test for 5 categories of drugs as mentioned above. They send to the lab (“contracts with three laboratories) or use over-the-counter ones (“on-site urine testing equipment, hand-held drug testing kits, sweat patch, a band-aid-like device that tests perspiration for the presence of drugs). They have both.

They test generally for opiates usually, sometimes you can even get a false positive for recently eaten a lot of poppy seeds, which are a mild opiate. All three drugs mentioned including a few others would show up in a probation drug test. The test for marijuana and alcohol are separate tests, while the opiates are all under one test.

Alcohol stays in your system for the least amount of time while marijuana and opiates can be detected for about a month. There are various methods for passing these drug tests, of course the most obvious is to not take the drugs in the first place. Most have been outlined fairly extensively in this article on how to pass drug tests.

wikihow.com/Pass-a-Drug-Test I think a combination of the listed methods would provide the best results most importantly is the dilution method, drug tests are getting more complicated now, they will actually test the temperature if it is a urine test now to make sure you didn't add water or swap it out for someone elses. Also they now test for those drug masking products that contain nitrates to mask the drugs in your urine, so usually they will turn up as failed. Best of luck!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
