Can someone explain to me the difference between an atheist and an agnostic? I know they technically do not believe in God, but what else?

An agnostic doesn't know or believe it's possible to know whether God exists or not, and an atheist believes that God does not exist, more or less. That's the gist. You can further break these categories up into strong vs. weak agnosticism and atheism.

One isn't better than the other, they're just names. So: - A weak atheist just doesn't believe in any gods. - A strong atheist believes there are no gods and actively denies their existence.(It's a subtle but important distinction.) Similarly: - A weak agnostic doesn't know if gods exist or not.

- A strong agnostic believes that it is impossible to know whether gods exist.

The word en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agnosticism "Agnostic" means "without knowledge. They are seeking knowledge of people's faith. Based on that knowledge they obtain, they may possibly have a defined faith in the future.

They do not have knowledge that there is or is not a god and may determine their belief in the future. Atheism firm belief that there is no supreme being. They have no religious beliefs at all and do not wish to convert to any form of faith.

From what I understand an Agnostic has not been convinced that God does or does not exist. An Athiest has rejected the concept of God completely.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
