Can the dealer change the mileage of a car?

It's possible, though illegal and not likely that a reputable dealer would do it. The later models of vehicles are made to prevent tampering, however older ones can be easily changed. If you are suspicious, look for signs of higher mileage such as excessive wear on the gas pedal and brake, arm rest, and steering wheel.

Not sure, but I had a similar experience. Join Date Dec 2003 Location Bay Area, CA Posts 1,416 Re: Can the dealer reset mileage? My V had a simliar situation.

In my case the dealer did not have my car long enough to put that many miles on it. To my knoledge only the factory can reset the ODO (dealers have to send instrument clusters back to GM/Cadillac to be replaced). I wouldn't worry about it.

I think maybe the cars are "test driven" at the factory and right before they go onto the transport truck, the odometers are started. Sorta like what I heard with Porsche and BMW. I dunno, just a guess.

Jokeing of course.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
