Can the sauce/gravey of beef stroganof be made ahead of time and then just reheated? Will the sour cream curdle?

I would like to reheat it when I cook the noodles. I am afraid the sauce will seperate and curdle because of the sour cream. Any ideas?

I put the sour cream in as a different serving. It can be refrigerated in its container. Many restaurants serve it separately next to the noodles.

Thank you Gary, That is a very good idea and sounds like it would work well with my health conscious folks. TJRock 12 months ago .

Yes, but DO NOT put sour cream in it as it will flake. Prepare everything until the point you would ANY kind of cream! I've done many meals over the past 30 years and deep-frosted or prepared it to be eaten a day, or a few days after the preparation...The best way is to prepare a meal until you have about 5-10 minutes left BEFORE it would be done.

Than let it cool down and put it (covered) in the fridge or portion it up into freezer bags (or suitable freezing ware) and and put it into the deep freezer. But, 'NEVER-EVER' prepare it to the point where you have already put ANY kind of cream in it as it will flake! It won't taste bad or off-but it just doesn't look good.

The only exception will be 'cold-desserts'.

Thank you 666, That is exactly what I was afraid of. I like your ideas of cooking ahead but finishing them off later at the end - right before serving. TJRock 12 months ago .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
