I am a 38 woman, Two years ago I had my cervix removed because of cervical cancer, I have tried to fall pregnant ever since, Three months ago my Doctor told me that during the operation they had also removed the gland that produces the fluid to carry the sperm to the egg.. He suggested I go in to a femm clinic with my partner to have sperm extracted, washed and suspended in a new fluid and then reincert it into me in the correct place at the correct time, my partner and I have been contemplating when would be a good time to fall pregnant seen as this way we would get to choose we have still not decided a date, But two days ago I visited my doctor again for a routine check-up to discover that I am in fact already pregnant.. I am only 6 weeks but am very definatley pregnant and without a cervix, in the interim he has put me on progesterone to try and keep it in. He suggested that I revisit him in two weeks and we would then discuss my options forward, It does involve placing a stitch at the base of the womb and apparently alot of time on bed rest. Later on in the pregnancy if we can manage to keep the baby in.
We will start with steroids as the baby will be early due to nothing holding it in, and the steroids will speed up the development of the lungs I hope this gives a little comfort in that it is possible, even if it is by some devine help whether I can carry to term and have a healthy child is still not decided, but only time will tell.
If a woman is not ovulating, and therefore not having a period, she cannot become pregnant. However, if the woman is breastfeeding and does not have her period she may still be able to become pregnant because it is impossible to know when she will start ovulating again.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
