Can you give any actual examples of how the media, in this country, deliberately leans either far-left or far-right. I'm not talking about shows or people that lean far left or right - actual examples. I'll mention one in the discussions, that I just saw on NBC, as an example of how, in my mind, the media deliberately come up with anti-administration, anti-Iraq War stories.

See if you can come up with any more. Asked by gandg22 43 months ago Similar questions: give actual examples media country deliberately leans far left far right Politics & Law > War.

Here's one - no one is reporting on the war or the soldiers killed. That's pro-administration. Did you know the total is now 4079 US soldiers killed in Iraq?

When was the last time they reported anything negative about the war? Let's see, there's the New York Times headline and front page story insinuating that Senator McCain had had an affair with a lobbyist. It turned out that there was no truth to the rumor and the New York Times knew that before they ran the story. Once it was on the front page the damage was already done, and they knew.

Then there were the umpteen first page top headlines stories on the Abu Gariabe story. It was bad that it happened, we all knew that and all believed it was wrong. But it only represented a very, very small percentage of our soldiers.

When our leaders learned about the "abuse" they immediately jumped on the case and prosecuted the offending soldiers. That was totally played down. The big 3 news networks and the New York Times were wetting their collective pants over that story for more than six months.

1 On an NBC show tonight there was a sad story about an Iraq War vet who was supposed to get discharged last month and had his combat tour extended. It added another vet who had the same thing occur and after serving some of his "extra" time had suffered major injuries to his hand. The theme was how this administration is mis-managing the war.

How terrible for the vets - thinking they were going home - only to be told they'd be serving for a longer time. It was specifically designed, in my mind, to be anti-Iraq, - anti-administration. And it was a sad story.

Here's my point - I had the exact same thing happen to me and so did thousands of other servicemen - IN 1966! This isn't a new tactic - The military has been extending tours for over 40 years that I know of. But if you looked at the NBC story - It was a new tactic - because we can't manage our military, or Bush is a war monger - and doesn't care - or some other "negative" American theme. Is it any wonder that some of us are anti-main stream media?

2 All the media reports on is the dead Americans. They don't talk about the good news like all the dead Iraqis. Everyone of the dead enemy is one less possible terrorist.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
