I was born in a communist country and lived there half my life or a little less ... when I lived there I thought America and the "West' was the panacea for all "bad" things. Then, I moved to North America and realized that brainwashing and propaganda are not only real in a communist system but they are just as real in a capitalistic society.
Left, right ... most politicians are lying crooks, I'd vote for Vlad Tepes for president if he were still alive.
However, I fully recognize that my ideals are mostly impractical; the world I would like to live in cannot exist in reality, so I wouldn't even vote for someone who carried my views.
I can understand conservative views and even sympathize with them on some issues. I like to think that both the far left and the far right help shape the middle, that hearing ridiculous ideas helps people think about what needs to be done.
I have not shifted. I have always been against too much corporate power and have always believed that we are not moving away from oil as quickly as we should.
I consider myself to be a moderate right wing conservative. My brother-in-law is also on the right, but thinks I'm actually more right that I consider myself to be.
I do not like labels of any kind as it restricts your options. I take every situation independently, do my research and make up my own mind. I cannot just fall into some kind of politically drawn line.
I am a part of the smallest minority on the planet. I am an individual..
Fiscally conservative, socially liberal, culturally traditional, federalist, non-interventionist foreign policy individual...
There exist no person more liberal than our self. Our Love is liberating to say the least. To say the most, it is unconditional.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
