Can you plug 120 volt appliances to 110 outlet?

Voltage differences in the world are not so shocking! Voltage in the world differs for each country 220 volt or 110 volts. Plug shapes, plug holes and plug sizes are also different in each country.

Some countries like USA and Canada run on 120 volt 60 cycles (60hz) and most of the worlds run on 220/240 volt 50 cycles (50hz). This difference in the voltage can be solved by using an appropriate voltage converter. Our step down voltage converters are specifically designed for standard US 110 volt electric appliances to work with foreign 220 volt electricity.

Convert 220V down to 110V allowing to use US 110/120 volt appliances abroad with 220/240V. These transformers with multi outlet sockets are for continuous use with both electronic and electrical products. Step up-down heavy duty transformers convert AC electricity either way from 220 volt to 110 volt (step down) or 110 volt to 220 volt (step-up) for use with appliances anywhere in the world.

All our power stabilizers function same way as step-up-down voltage converters. In addition, they provide stabilized output electricity in case of power fluctuations to save appliances from possible damage. They convert (step-up-down) electricity either way and regulate the power flow.

Our universal AC/DC adapters are 110 volt and 220 volt switchable. They can be used with battery operated products with DC input such as portable radios, TVs, walkmans and baby monitors.

AC/DC adapters change AC electricity 110 volt or 220 volt to selectable 1.5, 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 9 and 12 volt DC electricity. In addition to voltage converters, the necessary plug adapters may be needed since electrical wall outlets around the world differ in shape and size. Please note that plug adapters only change the plug shape and not the electricity.

Dual voltage appliances such as hair dryers, curlers, shavers, travel irons are designed to work on 220 volt 50Hz or 120 volt 60Hz for worldwide use. No voltage converters or transformers are needed. A necessary plug adapter may be required to plug the appliance in traveling country's electrical outlet.

These appliances and all our multi system VCRs, TVs, PAL camcorders, stereo systems and DVD players can be used all over the world with 110 volt or 240 volt AC. Foreign phone conversion Jacks (adapters) are required to adapt foreign phone connections to American type telephones in order to use overseas. To determine the right voltage converter for your appliance, first find out the voltage (110 or 220 Volt AC) and wattage rating (watts or amps) information on the back or bottom of the appliance or from instruction book of an appliance.

If no watts are shown and only amps are shown, multiply the volts (input AC) by the amps to find the watts. Note: voltage converters or transformers do not change cycles (50hz or 60hz). Our transformers do not work for two phase American 220V volt to convert to 110V.
