Generally speaking, world geography is taught in school before world history. I think it would be very difficult if not impossible to completely comprehend world history without world geography. The events that are studies in world history occur over various countries, continents, oceans, mountains, rivers and more.
If one does not know where these places are, it's hard to grasp completely what is going on. Events such as World War I. World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, War of 1812 and other wars are studied in history.
There are specific landmarks mentioned. One cannot get a complete grasp of the events as they transpired without understanding the geographic location and significance. I learned geography in 7th grade and had world history in 10th grade.
Learn world geography and you'll see your history knowledge and grade improve.
