At 16 and 5'10 you re pretty much done with growth, so you may lift as much as you want. Also my elder son was 5'7 when he was 12, so I took him to gym, even thou you re not supposed to take children younger than 12. Anywho he is 6'1 or something and very muscly at 23.
Looks perfect. As you see weight lifting did not stunt his growth. And once more - at 16 you re pretty much done with growing.
Also I must say it is NOT a myth, but it means if small children start lifting weight, like 10 year olds who re just in the beginning of growing spree.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
