Car accident in NJ with a police report filed but no info exchanged between the drivers. What should I do?

Get a copy of the police report. All of the other guys contact information, including his insurance information will be on the police report. How do you get to work?

Until you can file a claim with the others insurance company, you will have to find a way. There are buses, taxis, friends, and.......... "walkin ain't crowded If you had collision insurance, your car would most likely already be in the shop getting repaired and you would be driving a free loaner.

The good news is that a police report was filed. Since the police report will have all of that "valuable" info on who owns the car, where they live and the insurance company plus policy number. I would give it 3 business days and call the police department to see if ready.

Sometimes it is ready early, but it could take 5, just like they stated. Most likely you will need to go to the police department and get a copy yourself and pay anywhere from $5 to $10 for a copy. With copy of police report in hand, then call the insurance company listed on the police report and "hope" that he has already called and file a claim with them, which will speed up the process, if not, then you will have to wait for them to call him and verify he is in fact at fault for this accident.In the meantime, since you only have liability only, you will need to take public transportation, get rides from co-workers or friends, or rent a car at YOUR expense, till his insurance company completes their investigation, which might take a couple of days/weeks to finish.

With this being the holidays, could take longer since many adjusters take vacation and they could be short staffed and take longer. Right now, till you get a police report and talk to his company, you are at the mercy of "waiting" it out. But if they do in fact agree he is at fault for this accident, then they will either reimburse you for a rental or take over.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
