Christ died for our sins" came from Paul. Is it wise to consider his background before preaching his "gospel"?

Several times in Mark's gospel, Jesus prepares the disciples for his coming sacrificial death: "He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again... For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it." (8:31-36) "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (10:45) "The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him... This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many" (14:21-25) "With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last. The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus heard his cry and saw how he died, he said, 'Surely this man was the Son of God!'" (15:37-39).

The apostle paul read more of the NT, you will find this idea in the writings of paul (which makes up most of the nt) Romans,Corinthians,Thessalonians, ect... **EDIT** hello question mark... that verse says NOTHING about "dying for the sins of mankind"... The idea of jesus dying for our sins is not promoted in the gospels... however, the apostle paul is another story... He did not know jesus, never met jesus, and did not live at the same time as jesus... Also his main goal was to spread the "belief" and convert pagans. So he said alot of things that were meant to make it easier for pagans to convert to christianity...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
