This is a HUGELY tough category, but I think I have to go with Louis C.K.|Louis CK...I saw him at the Wiltern a little while ago, and it was amazing. The man's a real comic's comic: youtube.com/watch?v=166L3cE3zyk youtube.com/watch?v=vLhC6NSlDzY.
Chris Rock - who is ranked as the fifth greatest stand-up of all time by Comedy Central, after Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Lenny Bruce and Woody Allen!
Gotta go with Leary as well. I've seen ''No Cure for Cancer'' more times than I'd like to admit; the first clip below is one of my faves! "Life sucks - get a .... helmet" *Don't know if it goes without saying (it is Leary, after all), but videos include NSFW language.
Breaking the three-way tie! Louis CK youtube.com/watch?v=LoGYx35ypus.
Louis C.K. for sure. While several names on the list certainly broke some new ground, C.K. is one of the most unique comics in the alt comedy scene right now. He doesn't have any visible line of what is "too far" or "off limits," but unlike other comics who purport themselves to be "edgy" because their material is overly graphic or sexual, it never feels like he is being crude or vulgar for the sake of it.
If a bit is extremely violent or sexual, it is because he uses that discomfort to subvert a previously held notion the audience had with the punchline, whereas with other comics the joke is just how violent or sexual they are being.
Chris Rock is a genius.

A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
