There is a ffprobe. Simple usage: ffprobe foo. Mp3 2>&1 | grep -A1 Duration: will give you output (without displaying any extra window) like: Duration: 00:03:10.48, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 128 kb/s Stream #0.0: Audio: mp3, 22050 Hz, 2 channels, s16, 128 kb/s.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
