In accordance with the BRAC statute (BRAC Act of 1990, as amended), the Air Force will base all its recommendations on approved selection criteria that reflect military value as the primary consideration. The selection criteria address the impact of costs related to environmental restoration, waste management and environmental compliance. In previous rounds environmental restoration or cleanup costs were not included as a selection criteria or factor because it was viewed these costs would have to be expended regardless of the recommendation.
