Connecting 1 active speaker to my integrated amplifier that has 2 passive speakers connected?

Definitely the way to go is an amplifier or better yet, a receiver and passive speakers. Active speakers are designed for critical, near-field listening with an emphasis on detailed midrange and treble. However what is absolutely accurate and what is pleading to listen to are not the same.

Most pleasing systems have a bit of a boost in the bass region - not like Beats headphones, but still to the extent of being pleasing to listen to. Also active monitors are intended to being used just a few feet from each ear - not to fill a room with sound. Lastly most active monitors so not even have a volume control that is easy to access, and the control they have is located on each speaker.

So you are way ahead to purchase a receiver - maybe just a modest digital amplifier such as the Lepai units, and a pair of traditional speakers. Personally I'd take the receiver route, preferably used to obtain the best performance and build quality for the money.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
