Cons, how much did Bush's 800 vacation days cost the American tax payers?

I wasn't going to bother to answer this one as you have more than enough answers. However, the remark made "the first family pays for their own vacations" is really naive. Give me a break.

OK, let's say they did pay for the hotel and meals (could be, I have no clue) but the plane and secret service is certainly on our dime. I suspect that if we tallied it up, that vacation probably cost taxpayers about a million or so. When Bush was president, I think one of the "news" stations (is this kind of stuff news truly?) used to keep track of how many times Bush golfed or how many times he visited his privately own ranch (I admit AF 1 was used and that cost us as well as Secret Service) and it offended me.

Presidents do need down time, just like you and I. I think wealthy young women whose parents are pretty rick like the Obamas can probably afford a spring break vacation. But, times are different and this sequester thing has us all questioning.

Our country is in debt. I think a bit of austerity could have been in order. I also think, while we are on presidential golfing, using Bush as an example, that Obama golfing with Tiger Woods was disgusting.

Woods is a self admitted sex addict and wife cheater, is that really proper decorum for any standing president? But, the again the Democrats have long since excused and forgiven Bill Clinton, so anything goes I guess?

Our fiscal problem is neither debt nor deficit but, more exactly, high debt interest expense plus chronic unemployment, crumbling infrastructure, potential inflation, and near-zero interest rates. The cure: 1. To shrink the debt interest expense, stop borrowing to finance budget deficits.

This bribery-induced Congressional scam has fraudulently redistributed trillions of dollars from middle class taxpayers to the rich. Treasury auctions are a major cause of our inequality, poverty, and debt. 2.

Instead, finance budget deficits with printed money! That is exactly what Lincoln, Roosevelt, and leaders of other great nations did in their wartime crises, always followed by postwar booms! Inflation is caused by private bank credit, not by government spending.

Bank loans create more than $30 out of thin air for every dollar of federal government spending. So why can’t our Congress also create money out of thin air instead of borrowing with bond auctions and then over-taxing the middle class to pay interest to the rich? End the scam!

3. To end unemployment, spend the printed money heavily on much-needed infrastructure. Two of our greatest inventors and most conservative business men, Henry Ford and Thomas Edison, believed that, for public projects, our federal government should create debt-free money the same way your corner bank creates it: out of thin air.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
