Could Germany have defeated the Western Allies (USA, UK and Canada) in WW2 had they not invaded Soviet Union?

That is a very common and puzzeling what if question. Well if he didn't fight the Russians then a force of 6-8 million German troops could be put elsewhere in Europe. There would still be a heavy German presence on the border with the Soviet Union but the alliance would last.

Germany contrary to what many people here are saying was absolutely unable to invade and occupy the British Isles. By the time the Germans lanes the entire British garrison if the island would be waiting on the beach.

If the Germans pulled a D-Day kind of thing overpowering with numbers they would have to have a force of 1-2 million troops. The invasion of Britain would take 250,000 German lives, 100,000 Germans captured, the loss of some 3,000 tanks and over 2,000 additional planes destroyed. The British would have suffered around 40,000-60,000 deaths, maybe a couple hundred tanks lost and a thousand planes lost.

The defeat would have crippled Germany and sent her running back to her land. The only other thing the Germans could have done is launch a 100,000 man invasion of Britain from paratroopers which would have been extremely heavy in casualties also. Aside from the invasion of Britain which wouldn't happen Germany would have a 30 time's larger force to take British Egypt and then the rich British held middle eastern oil fields.

With decades if oil the German warmachine could easily go on for year's. Germany and Italy would have eventually taken the entire middleast from Britain up to the Iran border owned by the soviets at the time Germany would have sent a 59,000 man invasion of the British fort of Malta in order to cut all British communication in the Mediterranean. The Germans would have eventually taken Gibraltar from Britain absolutely cutting UK from the Mediterranean.

Germany would have found hundreds of thousands of extra Jews in the middleast especially Judea. Concentration camps would be set up there with the help of anti-Jewish Muslims. Nations like Spain, Portugal, Iraq, and Syria would have joined as axis allies.

Judging on how Germany responded when Japan launched pearl harbor she would or wouldnt be st war with the US. No war with US means more expansion. A US-German war means tons of troops sent to France, Spain, and Netherlands.

The US would never be able to conduct D-Day and a stalemate would insue. Germany and her allies would hold what they gained and Nazi Germany would be around till today. The USSR would eventually invade Germany or become its ally based on the relationship.

That would the best decision ever made in the history. Just becuase of Invading Soviet Union Germany lost many millions of mans. Also Hitler under estimated Soviet Union.

A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
