I figure it's the value you pass at the long max_range argument. The function expects a pointer to a long integer there (it asks for an array of long integers), but you're passing a long value of zero (result of the c_long() call), which is implicitly cast to a null pointer. I suspect the function then tries to write to the address passed at max_range ie.
The null pointer, hence the access violation at address 0x00000000 .
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
