When DCFS detains the children who are part of a CalWORKs family, will the parent still qualify for cash assistance as they go through the reunification process?

Because CalWORKs is for families with minor children, the cash assistance will stop. However, if the parent would otherwise be eligible, he/she may be able to access supportive services through the GAIN program, such as mental health treatment, domestic violence services and substance abuse treatment.
