I understand where the conflict is, the conflict is between your "friends" boyfriend and the child and the mother is being an irresponsible neglectful parent, if I were you I would contact CPS immediately. To remain anonymous or not isn't the important thing. The important thing is the safety of this child.

My honest opinion is both of these people mom and stepdad should be jailed for abuse to a child. It's disgusting how some people treat their children and stepchildren.

She does NOT deserve to have a child, call CPS rat out on her. Somebody need to do something to protect this poor kid. Do it.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
