Fort Monmouth rests in Monmouth County New Jersey. The base is 50 miles south of Manhattan, 60 miles northeast of Philadelphia and about five miles from the Atlantic Ocean. Portions of Fort Monmouth are framed by tributaries to the Shrewsbury River and exist within a floodplain.
The total Fort Monmouth acreage is 1125.44 acres, including 667 housing units, 64 administrative buildings and 15 laboratory buildings.
