According to this Amazon. Co description of the Video: Saturday Night Live: Best of Steve Martin, he did wear the Arrow Through Head on SNL during his infamous "Banjo-playing monologue. " Second link below to SNL transcript indicates that this this was Season 2, episode 5 in 1976.
