The apology is too little and too late. It seems very insincere at this stage of the game and in the middle of a campaign for the presidency. Romney claims he didn't know that the boy was gay, but back then boys were very much in the closet about their sexual orientation.
If Romney didn't know, I bet he sure did think the boy was "queer." Nonetheless, the bully behavior was still bullying (the kids had tears in his eyes) regardless of whether Romney knew he was gay or not. Bullies as kids often grow up to be bullies as adults - just a different expression of that tendency.
Teenagers as a whole are assholes. Back then, gays were treated much differently than they are today. It was acceptable to pick on them.
Looking back now, it was wrong. I don't judge a person for doing something like that when they were young. People change as do the times.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
