No. I found it an incredibly long winded story and boring story. I went on to read all of Ayn Rand's books from Fountainhead through to Anthem.
I found every single one of them boring as all hell. Personally, I think the writers of the golden period of science fiction, i.e. Asimov, Heinlein, Niven, etc.Did a helluve lot better job at dissecting the social and political milieu.
I did. I read it in high school. Although I find Rand's politics somewhat distasteful, I still enjoyed the book.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
