DirecTV, Dish or Comcast. Which provider has the best HD DVR? I currently have the standard DirecTV Tivo DVR and want to get HD, but i'm not sure if I want to upgrade to the R20 HD DVR.
Anyone with experience with it? Is it as sluggish as people say? How does it compare to Tivo?
Or would switching to Dish or Comacst and getting a promotion be a better solution? Asked by seadesign 61 months ago Similar questions: DirecTV Dish Comcast provider HD DVR Consumer Electronics > TV & Video.

I have the DirecTV HR20 and I think it's great I have to admit, I never had a Tivo, but my DirecTV HD DVR works great. The interface is pretty similar to what I used to have with my old Sony receiver. I don't like the remote as much, but everything works as advertised.
I've also read tons of complaints about it being slow to respond to commands, but I haven't had that problem. The thing is Cable TV right now provides higher quality HD. But that's about to change because DirecTV is launching some new satellites in the next couple of months and moving to a better compression stream which should not only improve picture quality but also significantly increase the number of channels available to over 150.
Because of bandwidth limitations, you're not going to get that with Comcast. Another thing, all DirecTV channels are digital even if they're only in SD. Not true with Comcast where many of their channels are analog and often noisy.
And lastly, my experience with Comcast has been really bad in terms of outages. With DirecTV, I sometimes get outages during storms but they only last a few minutes. With Comcast, outages can last for days. So, all I can say is that I've been very happy with my DirecTV HD DVR.
The bad news is I read that it was so popular that you now have to get on a waiting list to get one. But I think it's worth the wait. Sources: My Opinion .
1 I can't answer your question about HD, but I would say that I went from Tivo to DirecTV DVR (not HD) and it's not as good. The Tivo interaction is so nice, user friendly and intuitive. While the DVR holds a TON of recording, it's very cumbersome and has missed 2 episodes of Gray's Anatomy this season. So if you like Tivo, I would stick with it.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
