Do I need Gigabit Ethernet in my house?

I hesitate to answer this question. Cos as a techie yourself you know what I am going to say well enough! At present there is no reason I can imagine why you'd want Gigabit Ethernet in a normal home.

Unless you have some unlikely scenario like you'll have multiple people streaming multiple HD movies at the same time. Otherwise.... well it seems like data always expands to fill any amount of disk space or bandwidth available. But as of today I see no need for it.

However some people feel differently... this guy finds 90 sec too long to copy a large 4.3GB file around his home network for instance... makes interesting reading anyway.... tomshardware.com/reviews/gigabit-etherne... Because of other system bottlenecks, he only cut his transmission time by about a half anyway:

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
