Just therapists or Licensed Clinical Social Workers with Masters Degrees aren't that great. They do talk therapy only. You have to have the right chemistry, find one that you get along with.
Also you can draw the line at what a therapist is allowed to say or not say. You also dictate the pace at which your therapy goes and what information you disclose. You only disclose info that you feel comfortable with.
Some therapists act inappropriately and blurt out things out of insensitivity or just to push your buttons, but you have to let them know that is not okay to say to you. Sometimes therapists transfer their own opinions and issues on to their patients. For example: if a therapist has an issue with his / her mom, they may insist that your mom is an issue.
Or if they feel insecure about money and you are successful, they may try to compete with you. They may try to pry and ask you personal questions. Therapists cross boundaries and can act inappropriately.
You have to be assertive and let them know not to treat you like that. You can also report them to the State Medical Board.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
