Just because someone gave a "best" answer for a previous question doesn't mean they are naturally going to give a "best" answer for another. I think it is important that each answer be judged based on the other answers for that specific question... The point of this site is to get the best answers for a question not judge those that are answering the questions.
I only choose the answer that solved my problem. If there are many with the same answer and they all work, then I'll go by the simplest and straight-to-the-point one.
No, I try to base my decision solely on the answer given. If I still can't decide, I let it go for the community to vote on the best answer. The answer's rank or past performance has nothing to do with it (for me).
I base my answer on the overall answer, link, video and photo (if necessary). It is important to remember that a person who may be answering your question has had or may have had experience with the question you area asking, so that is a swaying factor in my opinion.
You're supposed to choose the best answer based on...well...the quality of the answer. Not on the self-esteem boost it might give the person. If someone has more best answers, there is probably a reason for that, and robbing them of another deserved one just to make someone who doesn't have as many (probably for a related reason) feel better about themselves is counter-productive.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
