Do people tend to view their childhood through rose-coloured spectacles?

No. I give people credit for looking back and viewing the reality of their childhood experience, which I also believe is one of the reasons we're where we are today. Sadly, during the last 50 years childhood has become an exerience that is anything but rose-coloured.

It depends on their upbringing, but many people do because parents tend to try to protect their children from experiencing the bad things in life.

Facing the truth, facing the "demons" that have them bound and forever miserable. Some people would rather create a "cover story" and smile as though the coverup replaces everything. Acceptance as well as honesty with oneself is always the best medicine!

Then again ......whatever works for you....works for you!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
