Why do large urban areas tend to vote Democratic, while rural areas tend to vote Republican?

No Labour in Cornwall as there is no Industry, no industrial plants, no Unions. It was Lib Dem for many years but when the prat started to upset everyone and was voted out, we changed colour.

I live in a rural area and between 1997 and 2005 we had a Labour MP representing the area. And to put it bluntly he was a COMPLETELY IDIOT - kept voting for things that would make life IMPOSSIBLE for the area. Since 2005 we have had a Conservative MP who is brilliant and really understands what the area needs/wants - mainly because him and his family live in the area.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
