Do proponents of gay marriage think that its allowance will erode the 1st Amendment?

Yes, it was potentially all of that and more. Is it a violation of the First Amendment?

No. Teachers are allowed to determine what is and is not allowed to be said in their classrooms - online or otherwise. EDIT: Integers one through nine, you spell.

Students in school all the way up to the college level don't really have First Amendment rights. They are under the control of their parents, their teachers and the various rules. Google any university and Free Speech Area if you doubt this.
