Like the majority of Americans, you have fallen into the trap. The problems began with LBJ. For most every problem this Country is now facing, our incompetent politicians, both Democrat and Republican, are to blame.
Our troubles are either a result of legislation which they have passed or a need for legislation which they did not pass. If the President or any Congressperson claims they did not see it coming, they prove themselves incompetent. And, if they did see it coming, they failed to do anything about it, still proving themselves incompetent.
We, as a Nation, elected these people to look after and protect the best interests of our Nation, and just look what they have done to it. All their excuses and blaming of each other is nothing but a cover for their collective incompetence.
Most Baby boomer are financially set. They do not have large amounts of debt. They were raised by the depression Generation and learned the value of a buck.
Unlike their children who are swimming in it. Now politically speaking, you can not put the debt on the baby boomers, we are all to blame. No I do not.
However I think it is funny that you assume that the Baby boomers are to blame for the mess we are in. GenXers stated to get the vote in 1978 and the last of them got to vote 14 years ago. As for Gen Y.
They have had the vote for 18 years and the last of that gen will be adults with in the next 5. That's a lot of voting power that has come in to this country in the last 34 years. Debt that was not there 34 years ago.
Debt that Gen X and Gen Y have to be held responsible for, because for the last 34 years we have also had a vote...and if we choose not to use it, that was on us. NOT THEM. Considering that both Gen x and Gen y use credit to support a life style instead of emergency.
That to them it is a right not a privilege. That they don't even blink an eye putting shoes, a bag or food on the card instead of cutting back when they can not afford it.... I think it is funny you blame Mom and Dad solely for the debt, when I can grantee they have a different view of credit then you do. And the truth is, most people didn't even care about this debt until 2009 when it was already over 11 trillion dollars.
There are currently Gen Xers holding office in both the Senate and Congress. We had the power to stop it, by our votes.
Baby Boomers effect who came of age and whopped it up (1965-1980) was to raise holy hell, almost destroyed the US nation for.... Hippies, anti war, rebels, even terrorists, some 50,000 Americans died in the Vietnam War (war lost 1975). The 'silent nation' are the baby boomers children and grand children (born 1975-2005)....30 years...they are 'silent' because they are undereducated, most without a father, most wanted by the police, or lacking a full time mother to raise her own children. The baby boomers produced apparently the worst / most failed generation of US history to date.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
