We get it. We just think the "movement" is frightened, racist, ludicrous, uninformed, resentful, focusing their anger in the wrong place and having trouble accepting reality.
Oh please. The Tea Partiers did not vote for Obama, have never liked him and are upset that he is the President. Most of the rest of us voted for him.
A group of rabid right wingers is hardly unprecedented in US history but the fact of being sponsored by Fox News and other propagandists has gained them a lot of media attention. Also, I hope you recall that the Republican Party was founded as an anti-slavery party. They were very progressive for their time.
White southerners even called them radicals and "Black Republicans" because they saw Republicans as identifying with the issues of the slaves and other black Americans. It is truly a shame that the Republican Party has deteriorated to its current state. In any case, the Tea Party is the very opposite of progressive.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
