1. I disagree with rolling back federal spending to 2007 levels without some sense of where these spending cuts would occur. 2.
I disagree with requiring a 2/3 vote to raise any tax ever. 3. I disagree that we must repeal or defend "the government takeover of health care."
Particularly since it doesn't exist. 4. I think we need to increase taxation on the very top wealth brackets.
5. This is nonsense. 6.
Nothing would ever get done. 7. This shows a complete lack of understanding of legislative procedure.
Why must there be a roll call vote for every spending measure? If it goes by UC, then they all supported it. 8.
Sorry, just cause you don't like the people in charge does not mean you have the right to tell them they aren't allowed to do anything in the lame duck. 9. What laws are we referring to here?
10. Not gonna happen, and even if it did it would prove nothing. These Constitution debates have been going on for centuries.
Like the Bible, it can be interpreted to mean virtually anything you want it to. The Tea Party does not actually stand for anything substantive. It is a movement of frustration...but no solutions.
Sorry, taxes right now are at the lowest rates in many years. Seriously, you folks are all up in arms about taxation at a time when you should be rejoicing it is so low. Reagan started outsourcing a lot of government jobs to try and make it look like he was cutting the budget, when in actual fact, he increased government spending.
That trend has continued. If we don't start funding our government again, we will end up with a country where you have to pay to have the police come to your house to investigate a crime and where you have to pay to have the fire dept put out your fire. Frankly, a lot of what made the USA so great was how EVERYONE had a chance to live well, not just the very wealthy.
If we keep deregulating and catering to corporations, we will not survive. The wealthy and the corporations are being quite short sighted right now, greed has taken over. When they have sucked the middle class dry, then what?
I stand by my statement about giving everyone a chance to live well. By having such a large gap between the rich and the poor, the rich are taking out of the market those people who will spend money on the things that the rich are trying to sell. How is that not short sighted?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
