Ah, the paranormal... I used to think that the paranormal was complete BS, and today I think that MOST people talking about the paranormal are simply engaging in wishful thinking. This stuff is NOT supported by science at all. However, scientific observation is not the only "way of knowing" out there.
Personal experience speaks loudly. Here's a story of one personal encounter I have had a few years ago with the "paranormal" or whatever we want to call it. Unexplainable might be the better term, or maybe spirit world.
I was working in Hawaii at a summer camp as the Aquatics Director. Camp season was almost over, and something completely unexplainable by rationality happened. As Aquatics Director, I had to get up earlier than any other staff to open the pool for the "polar bear swim" and distance swimming practice.5:45 AM to be exact. My guards had a bad habit of snoozing a bit too long, and I sometimes had to wake them up.
My second in command was a really awesome Hawaiian/Samoan guy named Pati. We shared a staff cabin along with some other staff. My third in command was also awesome (aside from his tendency to snooze too long) named Alex. It was probably about 5:50AM and I still hadn't seen Alex or Pati.
I was about to leave the pool deck and go get Pati, when I saw him exit our cabin, walk to Alex's cabin, and go inside (presumably to wake up Alex). Pati was wearing orange shorts with white cuffs and waistband. I was glad to see Pati helping out.
I had forgot my whistle or something, and immediately headed for my cabin, when PATI OPENS THE DOOR AND WALKS OUT OF THE CABIN ... A SECOND TIME! When it registered that it's impossible for somebody to be in two places at once, I was freaked out! I immediately asked Pati "What the frick man, I just saw you go into Alex's cabin, and there's no way you could have walked back inside the cabin without me seeing you.
" He said "No, I just got up. Are you for real? " I said yes, and explained what I had seen.
BTW, Pati (who I was talking to now) was wearing RED shorts with white cuffs/waistband this time. We decided to IMMEDIATELY go to Alex's cabin and figure out who the heck went in there. We found Alex asleep, and nobody looking like Pati inside.
Alex thought I was crazy for a while after I told him what I saw. I still have no idea who actually went in Alex's cabin, but I know it's impossible, since I had eye contact with both cabins the entire time, and I was fully conscious, sky was getting bright. We were all bewildered by the experience.
I asked other staff that had lived on O'ahu their entire lives if anything like this had ever happened to other people, and I heard a few similar stories. Auntie Bobbie is a really wonderful Hawaiian lady that told me that God might be reminding me that there's more to life than meets the eye. I tend to agree.
I didn't feel anything evil or bad/destructive happening during the experience (unlike another experience I had several years before). So to answer your question, yes I saw what was probably some spirit do something that defied the laws of physics, and overall, the experience was a positive one. Anybody else experienced dakine?
Mahalo for a cool question.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
