Do you believe Men really went to the Moon? Why? I do, but I was wondering why would other people believe it or not?

Science is about evidence, not belief It's hard to say I believe, because in science we teach others to be evidence driven. I saw a movie, I think it was called Capricorn One, about how the moon landing was really a hoax. At that time, I thought it was a silly movie.

Many years later, I understand that many people resist change and new knowledge. Thinking (believing, I suppose, is the better word) the moon landing was a hoax helps such people reinforce their belief that the media, or scientists, or both are always trying to mess with their minds. It's a bigger effort for me to believe that such people possess a mind.

Having said all that, for me, the evidence supports the idea that men landed on the moon. The way I observed the astronauts moving (1/6 the earth's gravity) supported the evidence. The golf ball moved much farther than it could on earth.

Now if humans are reported to visit the moon again, we'll have more data to support the evidence if/when they find the tracks of the previous visitors. I look forward to seeing that on "HDTV. I know we did, but to answer your other question, folks don't believe what they don't want to believe. "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears" (2 Timothy 4:3). While that verse usually is applied to believing anything but Jesus, it actually describe the human condition: don't confuse me with the facts, "truth" is what I make it, and (my favorite) how can something that feels so good be bad?

Those who wish (and that's the correct verb) to believe we weren't on the moon wish to have a simpler life where they are in control of things, even insignificant things such as no stars in the camera shots of the astronauts (illumination lamps flood starlight out of the picture. ) Pictures of the lunar surface reaching to the half-lit earth make no never mind. I mean, one can get a telescope and see the Sea of Tranquility, with boot prints, if one really wanted proof.

They're still there.

Absolutely I can remember the very first launch with John Glenn, and the first Moon shot, buzz Aldren and all the others. What a thrill. And yet today there are some, especially older people and what I reluctantly call who still think it was something made in a movie studio.

Like" the Day the Earth Stood Still". (my only favorite space show). Unfortunately we here in Texas had most of the Columbia crash fall a few miles down the road as well as part of Arizona.

What was left of body parts were here in Texas. That was not a Hollywood number. Yes I believe, I was just born 40 years too soon, to be a part of it.

I don't "believe" it, because that indicates that I have faith in something that may or may not have happened. I do, however, think that it happened based upon hard evidence - and you can actually see the lunar lander, as well as the flag, on the moon with a power enough telescope. You could probably also see the footprints..

1 Sometimes it is far easier to believe in a conspiracy theory than it is to accept the evidence. And the internet makes it very easy to disseminate fairy tales, like the idea that NASA made the whole thing up.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
