Yes it should be legal, of course. The law should have a lot less function in the regulation of sexual matters, and most religions ought to keep their noses out as well. Prostitution will always happen.

If it were legal, it could be regulated, health standards could be enforced. Tax could be collected. It would be a "win win" situation.

Absolutely, the law should have no say over matters of morality. As far as spreading STDs -- in developed countries where it's legal, the opposite has been true. Legalizing it requires that practitioners acquire proper licensing and health certifications, and they have to have those health certifications renewed on a monthly basis.

Health benefits for those who get pregnant as a result of work are outstanding, including maternity leave with full pay, and all prenatal and delivery expenses paid for those who choose to keep the baby. Does anyone really think that making it illegal has slowed it down? It just means that those who go out and pick up a hooker have no idea who they actually are, no idea of their health status, and they generally have the freedom to take them anywhere they want -- which is extremely risky for the professional, as is so often proven when they're found dead in back alleys or dumpsters.

Legalization allows for a set place of work, and security that would greatly reduce the risk of bodily harm for those in the profession. And yes, taxing too.

The law has no right to regulate morality. If regulations, such as STD testing and prostitution cards as in other countries, were implemented, those who engage in prostitution would be much safer. Once you outlaw something, you lose all control.

Look at prohibition and the War on Drugs. Also, prostitution is barely distinguishble from pornography, which is legal. How is a prostitute any different than an idle spouse?

The law says that it is only prostitution if the money was exchanged solely for sex. So, you can always claim that she was your mistress and you were giving her money to feed her kids or pay her student loans. The line is to thin.

Stop wasting my tax dollars to combat social issues whih could be worked out if the laws didn't exist in the first place.

Of course it should be legal. Who the heck gave anyone the right to decide what a person does with their bodies to make money. It's ok to send someone to war but it's not ok to let a person make a living off their looks.

I definitely support the idea. If they created a license for it and had a std testing for every client before the act, I don't really see who it would be harming. Both parties would definitely be willing to participate every time, or it wouldn't exist in the first place.

No, it should not be legal. It will spread many incurable diseases like AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases in the society.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
