Is prostitution legal in us?

Prostitution in the United States is decided on by the state rather than by the Federal government. Therefore, each state can say whether it is legal in that state or not. It turns out that every state has outlaw prostitution making it illegal -- except for Nevada which allows only limit and heavily regulated brothels in certain counties.

The movie "Leaving Las Vegas" was about relationship between an alcoholic and a prostitute in Las Vegas, Nevada. Some European countries (such as Netherlands) allows prostitution in regulated brothels. Amsterdam in Netherlands is one of the largest "red-light districts".

Not in most states. It is in Nevada -- and I don't know of any others. Yet another one of those pointless acts of legislature that prevents proper public safety measures from being taken.

I was startled the first time I went to Las Vegas - for a poetry convention - to take one of the free newpapers from the container near my hotel entrance, open it, and discover that it was a thick newspaper that advertised prostitutes. Toledo is still a lead gateway city for transporting women and children to Vegas and elsewhere for human trafficking, but stepped-up law enforcement has been active in curbing it for a year. hubpages.com/hub/Toledo-Ohio-Third-Large... restaurant owner I knew, who moved to Ohio from Detroit, told me that in the 60s and 70s, prostitution was not legal there, but prostitutes were required by the police department to be examined for STDs at the health department monthly and carry a card stating they were not infected.

I wonder if he made this up.

Nevada is the only U.S. State to allow some legal prostitution in the form of heavily regulated brothels. Prostitution outside these licensed brothels remains illegal throughout the state, as in the rest of the United States.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
