Do you believe that Tiger Woods owed you an apology?

I think people who make a big deal out of "being owed an apology" are generally being drama llamas. Even if she does owe you an apology, it's better to let this go instead of getting bent out of shape about it. And in the future, when you are charge of physically demanding group adventure, have a better "Plan B" in place for the inevitable "sag wagon" people.

Part of leading a hike (or whatever) is understanding that some people are going to insist they can climb the mountain and then fail only the way; be prepared for these people. Also, sometimes the leader has to be the "bad guy" and tell people "I'm sorry but you're not properly equipped and I can't take responsibility for your safety. You won't be able to participate.

It's a universal law that in any organised physical excursion - hiking, cycling, whatever - no matter how carefully you have outlined the physical requirements, you will ALWAYS have at least one person who blatantly isn't physically up to it, and should have known that. Be grateful that at least the rest of the people got their ride as planned. I've known an entire week-long mountain walking holiday in a foreign country be derailed by two wheezy folk with dodgy knees - after the first day the leader saw that the planned intinerary just wouldn't be possible.

These people apologised gaily a few times for 'holding you all up, me and my silly old knees' on the shorter, gentler walks we did, but showed no signs of realising that they had prevented everyone else from having the experience they had wanted and paid for. On that trip, of course the leader couldn't simply have left thes epeope stranded alone in a foreign country where they didn't even speak the language, while the rest of the party followed the itinerary. But you could have left this lady - she was in no danger, she was on a public road not in a wilderness, and preusmably she had a phone?

I'd have left her. This lady.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
