Do you feel compelled sometimes to do something on Valentines Day just because everyone else is?

Yeeessssss...it's another Hallmark ploy to force people to SPEND, SPEND, SPEND... Heck, I’m not the Grinch...but it seems to me we just got through celebrating Christmas...and it’s time, again, to be literally ’guilted’ into ’honoring’ the ones you love...again... Right from grade school, we were ’forced’ to bring in a box of valentines for each member of the class...and it continues on each year... I believe that there are Hallmark holidays to celebrate 11 months of the year....many ’requiring’ gift giving...of course, Christmas....the Valentine’s Day candy or flowers...the Easter Bunny... The ’true meanings’ of these holidays has been lost in the shuffle.... We’ve gotten out of the ’commercial’ version of celebrating these holidays. Cooking a favorite dinner, making a personal card...even for Christmas, giving hand made gifts that have a ’meaning’... It’s a lot more work, but the gifts are never ’returned’.... Would I DARE not give my hubby a Valentine? Nope....because of ’social pressure’ he may feel hurt or neglected...unloved or not appreciated.

No. But I do feel compelled because my wife wants me to.

3 Nope, I have disliked Valentines Day for many years. Has something to do with all the disappointment I saw while working as a waitress and bartender for many years. To many couples with high expectations, let down and fighting by the end of the evening.

Too many woman expecting the guy to bring out that ring box and not happy with what was given instead. I show and expect to be shown love all year not when someone jacks up prices and tells me I should. Bah Humbug!

Oops wrong holiday .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
