I think if they lie it may be in desparation. Remember they're speaking to people who are so afraid that someone will take their guns that they spend millions of dollars yearly to prevent the passage of laws restricting the use of assault weapons and extended ammo clips. The right to bear arms has been settled.
But any reasonable effort to control the use of weapons only manufactured to kill people, a lot of people, is always resisted. I don't want to take away your guns, but I am uncomfortable if a mentally ill person is able to buy an assault weapon or handgun, especially if he lives next door to me. There doesn't seem to be an acceptable point at which gun people will even consider some kind of regulation of assault weapons.
I realize this is a rhetorical question, but it is so true. I think the answer is evident in thier mentality in the first place... Understand, you are dealing first and foremost with individuals who are scared and think that everyone else should be scared as well. Instead of educating themselves, they feel we should all hold hands and cry out for the meanies to leave us alone.
The fine line between pacifism and cowardice cannot be measured until it isn't your life on the line, but rather, a defenseless loved one, or even a random stranger who cannot defend themselves. Well I, for one, will not hesitate to draw my .45 and dispense with the pleasantries if God puts me in a guardian's position. I value peace, but these jokers are just hiding behind PC rhetoric and idealistic B.S.
Well, such people are aggresive and like violence nd arguments. :) hence, they feel compelled to lie to create a situation which promotes arguments, verbal fights nd domination of the agressive.
Because when the facts don't support your views you have to change them. It's not so much lying as simply changing the definitions of words. Example; land of the free used to mean Americans were free to live, work and make your own fortune.
Now it means you can live for free without working off someone else's fortunes.
I wrote a hub recently on Gun Control and covered two major facts that gun control advocates refuse to state or acknowledge..1) 95% of all gun crimes are committed by guns that are illegally possessed.2) About half of the gun related deaths are suicides and those deaths would have occurred because the person committing suicide would find another method or weapon.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
