While I wouldn't call it sexist personally I could see how it could be interpreted as such, aka a woman is just a piece of meat. That is not a new sexist belief, I'm betting had their eye candy been male this ad would have flown slightly easier. Personally I see PETA using these lame sexy chick ads as ridiculous.. yes the drooling men who stare at these ads I'm sure think to themselves, "I shall never eat meat again.".. They may be thinking about meat but I doubt it's the meat PETA wants.
The organization is just losing respect in my eyes at least, you want to protect animals okay, you want to promote vegetarianism alright but do so with logic and facts and you may actually make a difference. If PETA could prove to me for example that meat was bad for me and a vegetarian diet was honestly superior, I'd stop eating meat to bad for them I'm an omnivore. Case in point...what does this have to do with vegetarianism?
I don't find it sexist at all I think they probably banned it more on her reputation. And I think she wishes she still looked that good-no cellulite at her age. I seen pics of her without make-up shes not someone who turns heads.
By the looks of it, I don't see Pamela Anderson's PETA advertisement as sexist, in the sense that there were many celebrities that came before her with a more sexier image than that of Anderson's. I would say that PETA's ad had been an effective campaign against the consumption of animal meat and the promotion of a truly vegetarian diet. This action by Canada, can be viewed as a knee jerk reaction to a campaign that has been going on for many years, maybe official are not looking in the past.
But the point is there are more pressing issues that need to be addressed than dealing with this commercial. Furthermore, PETA's ad campaign speaks of legitimate concerns that encompasses the welfare of animals and the overall health of a person.
It is silly to call this ad sexist. The point of the ad is that we are all basically animals. Of course many people take offense at that notion.
There is probably a connection between our societies dislike of animals and our own inability to accept our sexuality.
I actually think this PETA ad is kind of cute, and educational, even. I never knew what a round was until now. I also say more power to her, if Pamela can look this good at 50+, wow!
Her figure is nearly perfect! We should all preserve so well. What an odd ad to reject out of the need to protect the fairer sex.
I find Pamela Anderson's PETA ad way less sexist than: all the ads where women are working in the kitchen and their men are sitting at the table being waited on, the women are doing laundry and their men are sitting on the couch watching TV, basically all the ads that show men relaxing at home while their women work to take care of them.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
