At my husband's place of business they are having a Christmas party where you are asked to bring an appetizer. This is an affair where you stand around chit chatting with a drink in one hand and try to gracefully balance a small plate of hor'dourves in the other. So I don't want to bring anything too messy or that requires forks. Small bites you can pop in your mouth but look & taste great.
If it's something that requires a little work I'm up for that. Come to think of it, are appetizers and hor'dourves the same thing? Asked by auntd 48 months ago Similar questions: favorite appetizer recipe make Christmas Food & Drink > Food.

Cheese. You can easily just spread the cheese on place the pickle spear roll and cut it into bite size pieces. Also holding it together makes it convenient and actually more sanitary since people will be grabbing the tooth picks and not touching all of the other food on the tray.
Word of advice however is to not use colored wooden toothpicks. The color bleeds and becomes unattractive..

Try stuffed mushrooms I like to make stuffed mushrooms as appetizers, and people must like them because there are never any left. Try this simple recipe: 1/2 cup Italian-style dried bread crumbs 1/2 cup grated Pecorino Romano 2 garlic cloves, peeled and minced 2 tablespoons chopped fresh Italian parsley leaves 1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint leaves Salt and freshly ground black pepper 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil 28 large (2 1/2-inch-diameter) white mushrooms, stemmedPreheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Stir the bread crumbs, Pecorino Romano, garlic, parsley, mint, salt and pepper, to taste, and 2 tablespoons olive oil in a medium bowl to blend.
Drizzle a heavy large baking sheet with about 1 tablespoon olive oil, to coat. Spoon the filling into the mushroom cavities and arrange on the baking sheet, cavity side up. Drizzle remaining oil over the filling in each mushroom.
Bake until the mushrooms are tender and the filling is heated through and golden on top, about 25 minutes. Serve. Instead of buying the large mushrooms, you can use smaller ones.
Sure, it takes longer to stem and stuff them, but they're definitely bite-sized then. Sources: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,1977,FOOD_9936_24939,00.html .
Cheese-Pate' Pineapple I used to make this either when we had a large group or was asked to bring something where there would be alot of people. Everyone always remarks on it...It is quite impressive. One year I made it in the shape of a Christmas tree, lightly colored with green food coloring and used the olives, whole, for the ornaments and thin strips of roasted red peppers for the garland.
Use your imagination. Cheese-Pate' Pineapple: 2-3 oz. Pkg.
Cream cheese 2/3 c. Prepared brown mustard 2-1/2 lb. Natural sharp cheddar cheese (grated) 1 jar (small) pimento-stuffed olives 1 fresh pineapple frond (the top) In a large bowl.
Combine cream cheese and mustard. With electric mixer, beat at medium speed until well blended. At low speed, blend in grated cheese.
Mix well. Turn onto wooden board and knead until smooth and pliable, Refrigerate, covered, unti well chilled and able to mold, about 1 hour. With hands, mold cheese into the shape of a pineapple.
Place on serving platter. With a toothpick, score the "pineapple" with lines to make a diamond-pineapple pattern. Slice olives.
Place an olive slice in the middle of each diamond. Chill until serving time. Add the pineapple fron to the top, just before serving.
Surround the cheese pineapple with assorted cracker and plce a couple of small cheese knives into it. (I always had to make a few crackers up because no one wanted to be the first and destroy it. ) Sources: my recipe box .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
