Yea the G0P is retreating. The strategist won again.
Yet another trick question. How can the GOP get its spine back, for to have it "restored" would imply that it had one in the first place. The GOP has may have had a notochord, in the early 1950's but with the rise of Rockefeller RINO's then continued to fail.
We had Goldwater who acted, voted, and spoke like a Republican, but he ran in the memory of the "martyred and beloved womanizing JFK" and Eastern GOP money sought to do him in. We had Nixon who taught Obama how to dissimulate. We had Reagan who actually had a spine and adhered to principles, but also has earned the hatred of RINO's and Democrats ever since.
Bush 41 was confused by accounting legerdemain and he lost all credibility as he raised taxes. Bush 43 had the spine to do what is right and proper, but his flaw was in trusting people (Powell,et al) and being too trusting with the media! A media that hated him for actually winning the election.
Remember Liberals, Gore LOST his home state, which his family and uncle controlled in Spades! Then we had McCain, who could take as many positions on any issues as the number of facets on his wife's diamonds. ` So could you supply a date when the GOP as a party had a spine?
Note: I am a life long Republican, since I believe in individual liberties and I disavow the concepts of collective guilt, and I truly want a Party with a Spine and adherence to principles.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
