Do you know who Enzi or Baucus are?

No. I don't see the point in banning guns. I want reasonable restrictions, and I want to see them enforced.

I would also like to see a change in our culture in how we treat guns. Guns have been in this country for hundreds of years. While we have had the occasional issues, it hasn't been so serious for a long time.

Yet it's only now that we're having truly serious issues where maniacs are going into schools and the such. The question has to be asked what has changed? I think a part of it has to do with the fact we'll allow anyone who wants a gun to have one.

I also think it's the culture. Especially television and movie culture where we romanticize people shooting people up. Just the other day I was flipping through tv, and came across a scene of a woman and a man shooting up a grocery store.

They would shoot at people, kiss, and then shoot at people some more. I don't think I have to really mention every action movie that tries to turn shooting rooms full of people into something heroic or cool. Then people wonder why this country is having so many issues with guns.

Not to mention, there's the little fact most people understand that banning guns won't make them vanish. A good amount of gun violence is already committed by people who illegally own guns as it is. Of course the violence itself is illegal.

Banning abortion however is a whole different issue altogether. You can argue circles about whether the constitution meant guns for civilians or not. Whether it still holds true to today.

Etc, etc. You can't really argue that denying people abortion is a violation of human rights. The only way to argue against abortion is to say pregnant people are property.

Pointless. Just like people will still get unsafe abortions if it is banned, unsafe people will still get guns. And they will be the only ones that have them.

Not exactly good public safety policy. Many drugs are illegal. And any of us are a 10 minute drive from finding someone that will sell some to us.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
