Did that one already. Repairmen that won’t make calls on a holiday weekend? Did that one too.

How about the fact that today’s college students can’t read, follow instructions, or write a coherant sentence? Nah, that’s work-related. Aha!

I know! I’m going to vent about some of the small-minded people in the world - some of whom are here on Askville - who think being a Democrat and Liberal is the same as being a communist. This is just too good of an opportunity to pass this one up!

So, why is it that so many of the Bill O’reilly, Rush Limbaugh lovin’ crowd think that just because a person is a Democrat their ultimate goal is the downfall of the American way of life? Is it because they’re stupid, or are closed-minded, or both? To those people - and you may choose the category into which you fall of the possibilities mentioned - I would say the following: most of you call yourselves Christians, right?

So, if you’re a Christian, how dare you condemn we Democrats to the fires of hell when you’re so closed-minded you refuse to see there are two sides to a story! There is your side (always right of course) and our side (always wrong of course). Has it ever occurred to you people that both sides might be right?

What in God’s name gives with you people anyway? Now, I realize that there are Democrats/Liberals who are the same way, closed-minded, but at least we don’t go around getting our inspiration from a drug-addled radio commentator who hasn’t got the sense God gave a goose. Have you ever considered that by looking at the other side of the argument with an open mind that you might actually learn something or is that beyond your comprehension?

And hey, ya’ know what? I don’t know of a single Democrat/Liberal who is out to overthrow the Constitution of this country, create anarchy, or who is a Communist. Yes, granted we attack GWB every chance we get - he’s the most ineffectual, useless and pathetic excuse for a President this country has ever had or probably ever will have.

And most of the Republicans are beginning to see that is true as well. Shouldn’t the ultimate goal of both Republicans and Democrats be to work toward bringing this country together and uniting people instead of calling each other names and insulting the other side every opportunity they get? In his campaign, Bush said that he was a "uniter, not a divider" and we know that now to be a falsehood.

This country is more divided than its been at any time since the Viet Nam war. Shouldn’t we be trying to come together for the common good instead of constantly sniping at each other and engaging in name-calling which is a totally useless practice anyway? Maybe the time has come to heed the words of that old song from the ’60’s - remember - "c’mon people now, smile on your brother, everybody get together and love one another right now.

" It seems that would be much more productive. I feel so much better now - thanks for the opportunity to vent. Even if I only get one star from everyone, I still feel better!

Stupid stupid boy... My ex-boyfriend called me today and asked if I wanted to go to church with him. Reasons why this drove me up the wall He was abusive. I'm not going to list how, but he was. It's a good thing the relationship's over, and if he ever runs for public office I plan on holding this against him.

He doesn't live in the same city as I do. He said "God called me to go to your city, and I think you would really like this church." He lives about an hour and a half away, and he's driving to my city in bad weather to go to church?

From what I remember, the thing he likes the most in a church is if they have a band instead of an organist. I'm pretty sure it wasn't god talking to him, and how dare he even drop the God card to make this seem like a good idea! Other than when he invited me to a concert (almost a year from our first date in a similar situation-another example of hat an insensative dolt he is, but an entirely different rant) I haven't talked to him in 8 months or so.

You would think this would be indicative of my dislike for his behavior. And incase that wasn't enough for him to realize I don't want to deal with him, I know he reads an online journal I keep, where I freaquently mention how hard I'm working to overcome the damage that relationship did. I know he knows this because he asked me to stop using his name when alluding to what a jerk he is.

When we were together we ALWAYS went to his churches- Catholic, and usualy conservative. I'm Episcopalian. And for the entire time we dated we didn't go to a single church I wanted.

Didn't even cross his mind to ask. If I protested loudly about havivng to listen to how I was going to burn in hell when we were dating, what makes him think I'll sit through that when we're not together?! So a man that's ruined me for other relationships for at least the past year (if not for the rest of my life- there are lasting results from his actions) thinks I would (a) want to spend time with him (b) in a house of worship.

There's nothing Godly about what I'd like to say to him! Thanks for listening. Yeah I have no idea what is going on I always used to be a very strong independent female and I required no attention from the opposite sex. Recently I have all but had to push a few of them away. It is so aggravating because now I feel like I am in this never ending cycle of no-strings attached.

I also am very shy and have issues discussing relationships which had made everything complicated. Also it is not just from my personal life it is bothering me but a couple people from work someone from my church and some random guy at the hotel I run every once in awhile have been asking for a little something something without and responsibilities. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!.

YES! People who shout into their cell phones in public places. People's nerves would be less twangy in this country if there were stricter and better-enforced noise ordinances.

Thank goodness for the Quiet Car on my commuter train .

Only 14% of Americans say they've done this with the opposite sex. What is it? " "What do you find most appealing in the opposite sex?" "Is it wrong to often think about being the opposite sex?

" "Are men all about sex, and women all about relationships? " "What is your secret weapon to lure in the opposite sex?" "Being married, is it possible to have friends of the opposite sex? " "Do you have a phobia of the opposite sex?

" "What do you find cute about the opposite sex?" "If you are married do you have friends of the opposite sex? Do you spend time with them alone? Is it okay?" "why do relationships always involve interferring inlaws and your husband takes his mothers side and agrees with her.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
